Bio: My practice is a mixed litigation and solicitor's practice in family law. I have a background in many areas of law. I have worked at private firms (large and small), as a regulator as in-house counsel, at a human rights center, and now in my own family law practice. I have found that running my own business offers me flexibility, independence, and the ability to cater to clients' specific needs, which I love. Specialties: My family law practice includes all matters relating to the division of property, trusts, common-law relationships, child and spousal support, divorce, child custody, guardianship and access, and drafting of agreements. I have appeared at the British Columbia Supreme Court, Provincial Court, and the Court of Appeal. I am a collaborative lawyer and am currently training in mediation in order to find even more creative solutions for clients who wish to remain out of court, if possible. Favorite Part of Your Job: I have been told by clients that they appreciate my approach of openly discussing strategy and cost-effective options. As I have experience with court, I understand the solutions Judges often arrive at in family law. My favorite part of my work now is arriving at a good settlement through negotiation and one that may better meet the specific needs of clients. This is both cost-effective overall and thorough to address unique issues.
